And so it came to pass that the gods created man and welcomed him into paradise. Life was easy and man worshipped the benevolent gods with contentment. But the malevolent gods were displeased. “Why should these mortals only praise the benevolent for we are of equal part their creators?” So man was granted freewill. But with that every immortal saw the opportunity to became more favored among mortals. They influenced them to serve them and act to their own hidden agendas. So man began to destroy paradise and his brethren.

And whilst no god or goddess would admit to their own folly, they did recognize the discord their own intents had created. So they agreed that man would not be welcome in paradise but nor would he be welcome in Hell. Instead they should earn those seats based upon judgement by the omniscient. So they tore a rift between the heavens and the underworld and betwixt that duality would be man’s domain to live as he so chose. And that is how the world of Chasm came to be.

The world of Chasm holds many wonders and a long history. Many kingdoms exist here. Some war with one another, some maintain longstanding peace through ageless alliances. But Kings can’t own that which they can’t control. Barbarians, Pirates… The world belongs to those with the resources to impose their own will. But if one thing is certain, it’s that time changes all things. Espionage, war, love, riches…what awaits the brave entrepids willing to explore and investigate Chasm’s mysteries? Only time will tell…

This is my attempt at an original campaign for new players. We adhere to the V 3.5 core rule books almost explicitly with exception made to smooth any cumbersome gaming mechanics. Well developed characters and in-depth role playing is the goal of this campaign right out of the gate. I hope to have the players develop the story and create the environment in which their PCs inhabit.
